PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

We are working on ways to create public awareness within the county about autism spectrum disorders and about the services we provide as a chapter of the Autism Society of America. There are two ways in which we need your help with this public awareness effort. First, we are working to ensure that all of the newspapers in our county publish information about our monthly support group meetings. If you receive a newspaper which currently does not publish this information, please let us know and we will contact them and provide them with the necessary information.

Second, we are working to ensure that our chapter brochures are available at schools (both public and private), as well as the offices of pediatricians, dentists, and other service providers in our county. If you can bring brochures to your child's school or to the office of your child's doctor, dentist or other service provider, please let us know. We have purchased stand-up literature holders which you can use to display the brochures. Please contact Linda Carter-Ferrier at (410) 551-0655 or leave an e-mail message on the chapter's web site:

HELP WANTED:
CHAPTER LIBRARIAN

Many of us have purchased and collected books and other material about autism which we would be willing to make available to others in the chapter to share. To make this effort work efficiently, we would like to start a lending library for the chapter, but we have one small problem: WE NEED A LIBRARIAN!!

The librarian would be responsible for collecting together all of the items which people are willing to loan and share. Then a catalog of these items would be made, which would be printed the newsletter. Requests for items would be made to the librarian, who would coordinate their pick-up or delivery, as well as their return.

If you are interested in learning more about this important and rewarding position, please contact Linda Carter-Ferrier at (410) 551-0655 or leave an e-mail message on the chapter's web site.  www.annapolis.net/aaccasa/.
